Arda Guler has had a disappointing start to his career at Real Madrid. Having signed from Fenerbahce in the summer, he is yet to make his debut for his new club after suffering from numerous injury problems.
He impressed during the early stages of his time at Real Madrid. In pre-season training, some involved at the club were impressed by the Turkish teenager, who has been regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe over the past two years.
Guler is highly regarded at Real Madrid, and especially by his teammates. Ahead of Croatia’s match against Turkey on Thursday, Luka Modric spoke highly of the young midfielder.
“Guler is a great guy with an incredible talent. It’s a shame that due to an injury, he hasn’t had a chance to show himself in front of the Real Madrid fans,” Modric initially told Mundo Deportivo.
“He has a great career ahead of him and will bring a lot of happiness to Real Madrid fans. He should be allowed to be Arda Guler and not be pressured or compared to anyone – not even me,” the Croatian concluded.
Guler has returned to Real Madrid training in recent days, although his debut is still expected to be a few weeks away.
However, there will certainly be excitement ahead of his eventual Los Blancos debut.
