Barcelona get ready to promote another La Masia talent to the first team

Partly due to circumstances and partly due to his philosophy, a large number of players from Barcelona’s La Masia academy have made their debuts under Xavi’s orders, and some of them are regular starters in the starting line-up.

One player who is enjoying his debut this season is Fermin Lopez, who returned from a really impressive loan spell at Linares last season, trained with the squad in pre-season and is now starting to get first-team minutes.

Mundo Deportivo today predict that left-back Alex Valle could be the next player to follow this trend of debuting in a Barcelona first-team shirt.

Valle is on loan at Levante where he has had positive performances, and Xavi seems to have noticed this. He has started in all games with Levante this season, with the latter aspiring to return to the elite of Spanish football.

Fellow academy graduate Alejandro Balde has cemented his first-team left-back spot, but the club can now let Marcos Alonso walk on a free when his contract expires next summer, knowing that they have a replacement that is developing well.

Most likely he will follow the path of Alejandro Baldes, who already knows no competition on the left wing in the first team.

To facilitate Valle’s development, the Blaugrana can now let Marcos Alonso leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, knowing they have a talent on the rise.
