West Ham United still retain an interest in signing Harry Maguire in the winter transfer window, English media have reported.
They came very close to signing him in the summer after making a €30m bid to Manchester United, but the deal fell through at the last minute with Maguire staying at Old Trafford.
Kurt Zouma has generated a lot of interest from clubs in the Saudi League and could leave for the Middle East at the end of this season, so this has caused West Ham to think about his replacement.
West Ham executives rate Maguire’s profile highly, which means that it is not excluded that they will “knock” on Man United’s door soon.
It was Maguire himself who recently said he won’t wait long on the bench for his chance and only plays once a month, hinting he could leave next year.
If his situation under Erik Ten Hag does not improve in the short term, then Manchester United’s management would have to agree to his departure and negotiate a price for his sale.
