The midfielder of Real Madrid, Toni Kroos has praised Antonio Rudiger for the clash he had with Sergio Ramos.
Los Blancos drew 1-1 with Sevilla last weekend and the former Madrid captain was naturally the center of attention, even carrying out a heated confrontation with the German.
But during his ‘Einfach mal luppen’ podcast, as broadcast by Diario AS, Kroos explained that things would have gotten a lot uglier had it not been for Rudiger using his head (reacting more calmly).
“Sergio painted a smile on his face. Things got heated. As for Antonio, I have to say: ‘Hats off'”, the German midfielder initially said.
“He was one step away from suspension and the next weekend he was going to miss El Clasico, which meant at that point he couldn’t make a mess. That was probably what slowed him down somewhat. Otherwise, it would have been even more fun.”
Had Rudiger been suspended, Carlo Ancelotti would have been down to two centre-backs in Nacho Fernandez and David Alaba. The German has been omnipresent this season for Los Blancos since Eder Militao was injured.
