Milan has set a new negative record for Serie A clubs in the Champions League

Milan have gone five consecutive Champions League games without scoring a goal, setting a new negative record for Serie A clubs in the competition.

The Reds failed to score in their last two Champions League games of the 2022/23 season, losing 3-0 on aggregate to city rivals Inter in the semi-finals, and have started this season’s campaign without a goal in three games, taking 0-0 draws against Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund and losing 3-0 to PSG on Wednesday night.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, this is the first time a Serie A club has failed to score in five consecutive Champions League games.

Olivier Giroud was the last Milan player to find the net in the contest in the 43rd minute of the quarter-final second leg against Napoli on 18 April.

However, the red and blacks still have a chance to qualify for the round of 16 in the Champions League this season, despite being at the bottom of Group F with just two points.

PSG leads the group with six points, followed by Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund with four points each.
