Jamal Musiala sends a heartfelt video message to Bellingham after winning the Kopa trophy

Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala sent an emotional message to childhood friend Jude Bellingham after the Real Madrid midfielder won the Kopa trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The award is given to the best player in the world under the age of 21, with Bellingham winning it for the first time in his career.

The England international beat off competition from Pedri, Eduardo Camavinga and Xavi Simons to receive the award where he paid tribute to his family in his acceptance speech.

“I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me get to this point, from Birmingham City, to Borussia Dortmund, to Real Madrid, to the England national team.”

“But most importantly, my family – my mum and dad here tonight and my brother at home. Thank you so much for all the support – it means a lot to me,” said Bellingham.

Musiala couldn’t be in Paris to congratulate Bellingham with the pair who played together as kids, but sent him a video message.

“Due to our upcoming match, I couldn’t come to Paris tonight, but I still wanted to send you congratulations on your achievements. Deserved”.

“We can both remember not so long ago that we were roommates in England. Now, you’re playing for Real Madrid and I’m playing for Bayern, it’s crazy when you think about it,” concluded Musiala.
