Karim Benzema has scored a hat-trick for Al Ittihad, just days after Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked as coach at the club.

The Saudi club sacked him on Wednesday after winning just six of their first 12 league games this season.

The club were back in action on Friday when they hosted Abha Club, with Benzema star of the show in a 4-2 win.


In the first half, both teams had several chances, but Al-Ittihad were sharper. In the 38th minute, Al Ittihad won a penalty, which Benzema converted.

After the break, Abha equalized in the 51st minute, but three minutes later, Al-Ittihad took the lead again.

Then came Benzema’s moment. The French striker scored two quick goals in two minutes, making it 4-1.

In the last minutes, Abha scored again, but they couldn’t do anything more.

With this hat-trick, Benzema reached the quota of eight goals in the elite of Saudi football.
