Bayern completes the first transfer, he comes from Australia

Bayern Munich officially confirmed the arrival of young talent, Nestory Irankunda, who became the Bavarians’ first signing for the upcoming season.

His club Adelaide United will receive a fee for the 17-year-old striker as Bayern will pay €3.4 million for their youngster, which can be further increased through bonuses.

“We have been following Nestoryn for a long time and we are happy to have reached an agreement with him and his club for his arrival in Munich next summer. Thanks to everyone who participated in making this transfer happen. Nestory is an extremely fast footballer, a good dribbler and a good finisher. We are confident in his potential and that he will raise his game to a higher level in our team,” said team manager Jochen Sauer.

Irankunda was born in Tanzania and has scored 11 goals in seven games for Australia’s Under-17s, while scoring nine goals in 39 games for Adelaide United.

He scored his first goal for Adelaide in January 2022, when he was just 15 years old and was then the second youngest goalscorer in the history of the Australian championship.

“I am happy that everything has come to fruition and that I am coming to one of the best clubs in the world,” Irankunda said briefly after completing the transfer to the Bundesliga giants.
