The Manchester United team is ready to triple Antoine Griezmann’s salary to lure the Atletico Madrid star for a move to Old Trafford, various media have reported.
The Red Devils are going through their worst start to the season in 61 years, with Erik Ten Hag’s future in serious doubt.
A win over Luton Toen helped them gain some confidence after suffering a 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen in the Champions League, dealing a major blow to United’s qualification hopes.
Meanwhile, names like Marcus Rashford have failed to reach the height of last season, as the Englishman has scored only one goal so far.
New signing Rasmus Hojlund is also yet to score in his first ten Premier League appearances, while Martial and Antony have failed to impress under the Dutch coach’s orders.
As a result of this, the board of the “Red Devils” is evaluating the possibility of transferring Griezmann, to strengthen the attacking phase more.
The report adds that people from the English club have traveled to Spain to hold a meeting with the player’s agent and discuss a possible deal.
In an effort to convince him, United are willing to triple his wages, meaning Griezmann would earn €21 million a year if he agrees to a move to England.
Otherwise, Griezmann has a release clause of just €25 million, something that has convinced United’s management to consider a move.
