Milan could sign Arsenal’s forgotten player to bolster their defence

Milan are reported to be looking for Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior in the January transfer window, to strengthen the defensive phase.

Fikayo Tomori is the only defender available for the Rossoneri following Malick Thiaw’s injury against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Simon Kjaer, Marco Pellegrino and Mattia Caldara are also unavailable for Pioli so the Italian coach is likely to promote 18-year-old Jan-Carlo Simic to the first team for the upcoming match against Frosinone.

As the report adds, Milan will not sign a free player before the January transfer window but will try to transfer someone during the winter.

Journalist Daniele Longo has reported that Gunners centre-back Jakub Kiwior is their top priority and the Rossoneri will sit down at the negotiating table for a possible loan deal.

According to Longo, it will be difficult for this agreement to be reached between the two parties, but not impossible.

The Kiwior joined Arsenal from Spezia for €25m in January this year but has made just eight appearances across all competitions, starting just two Premier League games.

Names like Benoit Badiashile, Konstantinos Koulierakis, Maxime Esteve and Lloyd Kelly are also on their radar.

However, Kelly’s contract with Bournemouth expires in 2024 and the Premier League side are unwilling to sell him in the winter transfer window.
