Ronaldo in big trouble: The Portuguese star has been sued for promoting cryptocurrencies

Cristiano Ronaldo has been sued for his involvement in a cryptocurrency exchange.

Last year, Ronaldo signed a partnership with Binance , which was the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume at the time.

“This is your chance to join my community and own iconic moments from my career,” Ronaldo said l ast November and invited his fans to join him.

The first controversial contract that Binance signed was with the Argentine Football Federation.

This summer, that contract was terminated after the company stated that “the Argentine Football Federation has not fully fulfilled its contractual obligations.”

Now a new problem has arisen as a lawsuit has been filed against Ronaldo by three people. They claim they have “suffered serious losses due to Ronaldo’s promotion of cryptocurrencies”.

The lawsuit adds that users who signed up through Ronaldo’s promotion used the exchange for other reasons, such as investing in counterfeit cryptocurrencies.

“Ronaldo’s promotion of Binance solicited investments in counterfeit cryptocurrencies while encouraging millions of his fans to invest in Binance ,” the lawsuit said.

The lawsuit also alleged that Ronaldo knew or should have known that Binance was selling counterfeit cryptocurrencies.
