According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are looking for a Yaya Toure-type player to join their ranks this coming summer.

The player in question would have to be strong in both defense and attack.

Given Frenkie De Jong and Pedri’s preference for creative roles, there is a gap in the number six position that needs to be filled.

Oriol Romeu has not lived up to expectations so far and Barca have identified three potential candidates to replace him.

Bruno Guimaraes

The Brazilian, who is currently at Newcastle, claimed earlier this year that he would like to play for the Blaugrana. It was also revealed that the 26-year-old has a special clause in his contract that would allow him to join Barca for a relatively low price of €65 million, while his market value stands at €85 million. .

Youssouf Fofana

Another midfielder who is in Barcelona’s sights is Monaco’s 24-year-old Fofana, who has already attracted attention in French football.

He has demonstrated versatility and could be a solid all-around option for the team. The price for the player is a modest 25 million euros.

Amadou Onana

The 22-year-old player plays for Everton and has also won an invitation to the Belgian National Team. Onana stands out for his height (1.95 m) and strong presence on the field.

To get him to Camp Nou, Barça will have to pay up to 50 million euros.
