Barcelona “hunting” for German champions star

Barcelona are hoping they can get back under the salary cap this summer, and if they do, it would allow sporting director Deco and coach Hansi Flick to make new signings.

One position that has not been signaled as a priority is that of right-back, but the Blaugrana want to make the first moves for the transfer of Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong.

The Dutch representative has been a “nightmare” for opposing defenses this season, playing as a right defender, right midfielder and sometimes even in the attack phase.

As reported by Sport, Frimpong is a target suggested by Flick. Barcelona have been in contact with Leverkusen over a possible deal, and Aspirin are reportedly open to including players in the deal to bring the price down.

The information in the media is that in the last few days, Leverkusen have contacted Barcelona for Ansu Fati, asking for a loan deal or a transfer at a low price (€10-15 million), even though they believe that the player would reject an offer after wants to demonstrate his skills to Flick during the preseason.

Barcelona has already included itself among the teams interested in Frimpong, but until they receive the “green light” in financial terms, the transfer seems impossible.

In fact, the left-wing striker position and a midfielder remain the main priorities, but at the moment it does not seem certain that Barcelona will have the money to spend, unless they make some big sales to generate funds.
