Manchester United trained in Skopje on Monday night ahead of the Super Cup with the players in an upbeat mood.
Manager Jose Mourinho had already confirmed at his press conference earlier in the day that efforts to have Phil Jones’ UEFA ban overturned had failed.
He will miss the cl ash with Real Madrid along with fellow centre-back Eric Bailly, who is also suspended.
But all of United’s other available players were present at the training session at the Philip II Arena.
And United’s long-term injured trio – none of whom will feature – were present.
Luke Shaw and Ashley Young were able to join in the session while Marcos Rojo acted as referee during practice matches.
Mourinho reported no other injury worries as his squad warmed up to face Cristiano Ronaldo and Co.
The only players absent who had been involved during the summer warm-ups were youngster Demi Mitchell and Tim Fosu-Mensah. The latter was left behind to finalise a loan move to Crystal Palace.
