Jose Mourinho has identified the next position he is targeting in the transfer window

ose Mourinho has identified the left-back spot as the area in which he wants to improve at Machester United in the remainder of this summer’s transfer window, according to the Daily Record.
Left-back recruitment made a priority

Jose Mourinho has experimented with a variety of different left-backs at the Theatre of Dreams last season but wasn’t convinced by any of them, subsequently stepping up his pursuit of a new left-back.

The Portuguese coach is hoping to sign a Champions League quality left-back, as he prepares for a season in which he plans to use wing-backs in a back-three system.

Mourinho hopes to land a left-back who will hold down a regular place in the United starting eleven, after frequent chopping-and-changing in the full-back area last season.

The likes of Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Ashley Young were all deployed as left-back last season.
Danny Rose being considered

Danny Rose is believed to be a key transfer target for Jose Mourinho this summer, however, Spurs are remaining adamant on their stance that the England international is not for sale at any price.

Although, in an interview with the Sun, Danny Rose stated that if a “concrete offer” was on the table he would have “no qualms” in discussing it with club officials.

Rose also stated that he “knows what I’m worth”. In the past, Mauricio Pochettino has not taken well to players speaking out of turn, arguably as Rose has done, which could potentially see the club change their ‘not for sale’ stance.
