Adrien Rabiot will be a free agent at the end of the season when his contract with Juventus expires and L’Equipe reports that Manchester United are trying to sign him.
The midfielder has always left the door open for his next move, as he could still negotiate a new deal to stay in Turin after arguably the best season of his career.
The 28-year-old Frenchman has contributed 11 goals and four assists in 43 competitive appearances for Juventus so far this season, finding his form in a more advanced role under manager Max Allegri.
Manchester United were already in advanced talks with Rabiot in the summer after discussing a transfer fee with Juve, but failed to agree personal terms with Rabiot’s mother and agent, Veronique.
It was reported that they were demanding a salary of at least 10 million euros per season.
According to L’Equipe, the Premier League club are prepared to try again, as Erik ten Hag is an admirer of the Frenchman.
Juventus signed Rabiot as a free agent when he left Paris Saint-Germain in July 2019.
