Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has questioned the club’s prospects of challenging for the Premier League title next season.

Neville claims confusion over United’s ownership will affect planning in the summer transfer window.

“The reason I haven’t said Manchester United now is because there’s going to be a lot of turbulence at United in the next four to six weeks,” Neville initially said.

“Obviously the Glazers will at some point make a decision if they make their decision – it’s pathetic what they’re doing.”

“At some point, the new owners will come in and they will have to put their feet under the table.”

“To think they’re going to challenge in their first season, it could happen, but I think there’s going to be so much turbulence in terms of recruitment and what’s going on,” the club legend concluded.
