Mauricio Pochettino has been at Chelsea for just over a month, but fans are full of optimism ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Below are listed the five main things that the Argentine coach has already managed to do in the London team.
Exodus in the team
Pochettino took over an overstuffed squad and his job was to get some players out. A flurry of departures followed – with several still to come as the Argentine looks to secure his preferred squad number of around 25 players.
New transfers are being witnessed
Christopher Nkunku, Nicholas Jackson and Andrey Santos are just a few players who have made their Chelsea debuts under Pochettino this summer. A rebuild is underway at Stamford Bridge with Pochettino making all the right moves so far.
System changes
Pochettino seems to have settled on a 4-2-3-1 system and it is expected that this scheme will also be used in Premier League games, especially in the opener against Liverpool at home on Sunday, August 13.
Improving fitness
An incredibly strict training regime has been implemented by the Argentine at Chelsea this summer and there is no excuse for the players not to be at their best when the new campaign begins later this month.
Restoring faith
A sense of excitement and optimism has finally returned to Chelsea after a shocking 2023/24 season. Everyone at the club is full of confidence for the new season.
