Remained on the bench – Aaron Ramsdale could leave in January, two big clubs interested in the English goalkeeper

Bayern Munich and Chelsea are closely monitoring Aaron Ramsdale’s situation at Arsenal.

Ramsdale has been regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe since his arrival from Sheffield United in 2021.

However, Mikel Arteta’s decision to sign David Raya and bring the Spaniard on from the opening minute against Everton has cast doubt on his immediate and long-term plans, writes the Daily Mail.

Ramsdale signed a new four-year contract with Arsenal in May and the goalkeeper remains committed to Arsenal, facing PSV Eindhoven in their return to the Champions League on Wednesday.

The goalkeeper will be hoping to return to the starting line-up for the showdown at the Emirates or Sunday’s much-anticipated North London derby against Tottenham.

If Raya eventually becomes Mikel Arteta’s first choice, Ramsdale could consider a move away from the club to boost his chances of being England’s starting goalkeeper at Euro 2024.

The two clubs that have goalkeeper problems, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, have only expressed interest in Ramsdalen.

It remains to be seen what January will bring for the goalkeeper.
