Real Madrid have four on the shortlist to succeed Carlo Ancelotti who will leave next summer.
According to Cadena SER, the names on Florentino Perez’s list are Xabi Alonso, Raul, Alvaro Arbeloa and Roberto De Zerbi.
The Spaniard Alonso remains the strongest candidate to take over the leadership of the club and is seen as much more advantageous than Raul or Arbeloa.
As for De Zerbi, that’s the under-the-radar option that could gain momentum if things don’t work out with the appointment of Xabi Alonso.
Both Xabi Alonso and Roberto De Zerbi are doing fantastic work at Bayer Leverkusen and Brighton respectively.
As for Raul and Arbeloa, they currently manage Real Madrid Castilla and Real Madrid U19.
Real Madrid has not made the final decision regarding their next coach. They will do so at the end of the season before Carlo Ancelotti leaves the club for the Brazil national team.
