Arrigo Sacchi has praised Stefano Pioli and Milan after their fantastic performance in their 2-0 win over Lazio on Saturday night, saying he felt like he was watching the Milan of old.

The Rossoneri moved back up to second in the Serie A table and are now level on points with table leaders Inter, turning the tide in their favor after a crushing 5-1 defeat in the city derby.

New arrivals Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor scored the winning goals in the 60th minute and 88th minute respectively.

Pioli had to manage absences in this match, with key midfielders Rade Krunic and Ismael Bennacer still sidelined through injury. Ruben Loftus-Cheek also had to be substituted after just 30 minutes of play.

Despite all the problems, they still managed to give a beautiful show to the fans of the team.

Writing in his weekly column for “La Gazzetta dello Sport”, Sacchi said: “Milan against Lazio, especially in the second half, was on the verge of perfection”.

“They were an organized, aggressive team, where everyone helped each other. We played a lot with the ball on the field, not wasting time with unnecessary crosses”, added Sacchi.

Milan will be back in action this Tuesday, as they will face the German team Borussia Dortmund where they will be looking for their first victory in the Champions League, after a goalless draw in the first match against Newcastle United.
