Inter reward the players with millions of euros after success in the Champions League

Inter owner Steven Zhang was delighted with his team’s success in the Champions League group stage and has paid the players their first bonus of the season.

The Nerazzurri have been almost flawless in Europe this season, winning three of their four games to secure their place in the last 16 of the competition.

Two wins over RB Salzburg, victory over Benfica and a draw against Real Sociedad were enough to see Simone Inzaghi’s side through.

While Inter have been lucky in the Champions League points this season, Inzaghi has also been rewarded for his decision to rotate the squad, allowing players to stay fresh in the Scudetto race.

Gazzetta dello Sport details how Zhang phoned the Inter squad after their win over RB Salzburg to congratulate them on qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

He also rewarded his players, paying a €2m bonus for their first major success of the season.

Inzaghi’s side can now shift their focus to the title race, with just two points ahead of second-placed Juventus.
