Bellingham leaves England squad, returns to Madrid to continue recovery process

Jude Bellingham has left the England training camp and will travel back to Madrid to focus on his recovery, the England national team have announced.

England will play in upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia this month.

The Three Lions will be sorely missed, however, as Bellingham has released training camp.

The Real Madrid midfielder apparently underwent medical tests which proved his inability to play in these matches.

“Jude Bellingham and Levi Colwill will play no part in England’s upcoming UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia.”

“The pair arrived at St.Georges Park for assessments on Monday, but will now return to Real Madrid and Chelsea respectively to continue their rehabilitation,” the English national team said in a statement.

Bellingham is expected to have about two weeks off before returning to play against Real Madrid. The 20-year-old suffered a setback shortly before the game against Valencia last weekend.
