Kai Havertz had difficulties to adapt to Arsenal but he scored once again for Germany, even this time playing as a left defender.

The 24-year-old has failed to make a big mark in his debut season with Arsenal since they signed the German from city rivals Chelsea.

He has scored just one goal for the club in 19 appearances, although he has played mostly as a midfielder under Mikel Artetas. Havertz has spent most of his Chelsea career playing as a striker, so he now has to adapts to a completely new position at Arsenal.

Germany coach Julian Naglesmann did something unusual on Saturday night, activating him at left-back against Turkey.

Speaking beforehand, Naglesmann said that “Kai will not always play in this position”.

“I have a great idea, he is an extremely good footballer. This is a very good option. He will not always play as a classic left-back,” said Nagelsmann.

Despite this coach’s decision, Havertz only needed five minutes to find the net in a luxury friendly.

He made a wonderful use of Leroy Sane’s pass to score his 14th goal for the German national team.
