Raphael Varane is expected to leave Manchester United and there are reports he would favor a move to Serie A ahead of Saudi Arabia.
The centre-back is now 30 years old and his contract at Old Trafford runs until June 2025.
He was bought by Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 for €40 million, but has remained second choice this season under manager Erik ten Hag.
Despite this, SunSport claim the manager is unwilling to let Varane leave in the January transfer window, preferring to wait until the end of the season.
A source close to the player was quoted in The Sun as insisting a move away was the best thing for all concerned.
Juventus, Inter and Roma have all been linked with Varane, and while Saudi Arabia would command a huge salary, the source says “he is also interested in Italy as it is a league he admires and would like to play in.” was a part of it”.
The veteran has 93 caps for the French national team and has only represented three clubs in his career, Lens, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
