Real Madrid could lose the race for Alonso, with the European giants said to have reached an agreement with him

Xabi Alonso is doing a great job as coach of Bayer Leverkusen. He took over the German club a year ago and in 54 games he has 33 wins, 11 draws and ten losses.

His Leverkusen are currently the top team in the Bundesliga and top of their Europa League group, as well as playing attractive football with plenty of attacking action.

Alonso is regarded as one of the best young coaches in the world and there are already combinations for him to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid at the end of this season.

The Spaniard is also being followed by Bayern, who are not very satisfied with the work of Thomas Tuchel. Spain’s El Chiringuito reports that Alonso and the Bavarians have reached an agreement for next season. It is suspected that the German champion wants to start a new era with the new coach.

Xabi Alonso is a famous Spanish midfielder who has won everything there is to win in his career. He played for Real Sociedad, Eibar, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern and for Spain he played 114 games and scored 16 goals.

In his coaching career, he managed Real’s youth team and Real Sociedad’s B team, from which he came to Leverkusen.
