Multiple media outlets are reporting that Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot is set to extend his stay in Turin and is likely to put pen to paper on a contract extension in the coming weeks.
The 28-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the 2023/24 season. His contract had also expired at the end of the 2022/23 season, but he decided to stay at the Allianz Stadium for an extra year on improved personal terms.
Rabiot currently earns an annual salary of €7 million, and despite strong interest from the Premier League, he may decide to sign for an additional year on the same salary.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport , a strong relationship with coach Massimiliano Allegri is the main reason for his desire to stay.
In fact, Allegri was one of the main reasons why Rabiot had wanted to sign for Juventus in the first place in 2019, however, the manager had left the club at the end of the 2018/19 season, before the two had the chance to work together again.
A few months after Maurizio Sarri arrived to replace Allegri, Rabiot’s mother and agent Veronique had considered seeking a move away from Juventus due to a lack of consistent game time.
Things started to pick up under Andrea Pirlo, but Rabiot’s return to top-level form has largely coincided with Allegri’s return.
